I have to say that starting this newsletter has given me joy and apprehension in equal measure. But now as I write to you, I imagine ‘A Tuesday Dispatch’ to be a small gathering of likeminded people in a well-used, softly lit room, and the thought comforts me.
An accurate representation of me sending you this letter.
I’ve spent many days trying to figure the tone of ‘A Tuesday Dispatch’, and I realised that it would read best when it is fluid— in a form that evolves naturally, like a good conversation. For this, I would like to encourage you to write back to me because you see, the secret point of this newsletter was to have an intimate space to present ideas and writing. I often feel that Instagram, despite its many benefits, is too fleeting. But as a newsletter, nestled within your inbox, I feel this conversation has the potential to be read, absorbed and in some cases even dissected.
And so, to begin with I will be sharing my promised list– a list of stuff that I've found relaxing over the course of September. September is strange, it's a neither here, nor there, kind of month and seems to inspire everything and nothing. It's definitely not the beginning, not even a good, honest middle and not entirely the end either. But it's quite essential as it gathers the mood of the previous months and begins to hint at a conclusion that will define the year.
